I made an appointment which did take a month to get. Yes, like everyone else I had to wait on the phone for an hour to get an appointment. However there are many millions on Social Security so it was expected. I showed up to the appointment at the office in Walnut Creek. I signed in and was seen on time. I asked many questions to clarify what I thought I understood from discussions on the phone with the general help line and after reading the information online. They were nice, happy to help and it was a wonderful experience. I feel fully informed. Come to the appointment prepared with y0our questions and without a chip on your shoulder. I have found social security very helpful through a disability process. Take the time, wait and make an appointment. The results are worth the wait on the phone.
