If I could give less than one, I would. I have been trying to get a situation resolved since the middle of July which is hurting me financially. I’ve called multiple times and end up talking to the national office who initially gave me completely wrong information. Since I had no phone number for the local office, I sent them a letter with my Social Security number, a phone number, a text number, and an email number to which I got no response. I was finally able to get the phone number for the Franklin office and even the extension for the man who is supposed to be handling my Irma appeal. I have called him four or five times in the last two weeks, been immediately transferred to voicemail and have never received a callback. This is all after the fact that I was mistakenly told that I need an appointment in order to file an Irma and then I couldn’t get in for six weeks. When I went to my appointment after six weeks they forgot about me for two hours and when I got to the window I was told I’ve been given misinformation and nobody would talk to me that day, despite the fact that I had an appointment. I was sent away with a self-addressed envelope to the attention of the person who needed to receive my Irma. I’ll put it in the mail on August 28, 2019 and can’t even find out if it’s been received. Working for the federal government is a coveted position with great benefits. You would think they would be more selective about the competency of who they hire.
