I and several members of my family have had appointments with the Decatur Social Security Office at this location. From our experiences so far this office has been very helpful and very courteous. The waiting room, however, could be more welcoming and comfortable. Many clients have handicaps and have trouble getting up and down out of the low, rather flimsy, chairs. Even with a cane, my Mother, age 81, struggles to sit down in the low chairs that have no arms to support her. The no arm chairs also make it difficult for her to get up from them. There are many who have disabilities with the same problem when they encounter trying to sit and stand in this waiting room. I am thankful for the kindness and helpfulness of the staff at this facility, however, would it be "that expensive" to update the waiting room seating so that these poor physically handicapped people could wait more comfortably? The wait is sometimes long, and it would be SO helpful if they would just have chairs with arms. I would have given "Excellent" as my review accept for the uncomfortable waiting room seating. Thank you for giving the opportunity for this review!
