1 Review on “Social Security Office in Columbia, Maryland 21045”
I wanted to make an appointment to review my benefits and when and if I should switch from my husband’s benefit to mine. I called the number and listened to a VERY LONG introductory message. When I finally got to the main menu and asked for an appointment, I was immediately told that nobody was available to answer my call. I was told the busiest times were early in the week and early in the month. Today is Wednesday, 11/27, so it is neither. Very frustrating not to be able to get through and there is no direct phone number for the Columbia, MD office.
I needed to change my last name and decided to mail my application in. From start to finish it took 14 business days since the day they received my package for my new card and documents to be returned to me. I was worried that they would lose my original documents in the process (it is unfounded but anything can happen and I just didn’t want to think about filing for replacements). Luckily for me, everything turned out fine. The reason I took off one star is because there’s no way to contact this office by phone.
