Honestly, I didn’t have a bad time. I went in at the peak hour, and had to wait an hour and a half, but they were all working up there and pushing people through the best they could. I had all my paperwork ready to go and it only took about five minutes to finish. Thank you for your hard work!
I went to SSI office today to get my kids name changed. Because my family was in the process of changing names, I got a paper document with a barcode from the DMV that verified my new ID would be on the way to me soon. However, one of the male Social security officers quickly denied seeing me because he saw my old ID had a punch hole on it, regardless I had another photo ID with me, or my legal DMV document with me or not. Worse experience ever when you were being seen as the punch hole instead of the person.
Spent half an hour at the office without an appointment. Uniformed officer did a bag check to make sure all was well. His main job is security but also helping people get a ticket and get in a correct line. The representative behind the glass was very kind and was able to help me right there. If you have your paperwork in pretty much order, they can help you quickly. Visiting government offices make me nervous anyway and this was my first visit. It was a very productive visit. The people were matter of fact and get down to business but also kind. Thank you.
